Journaling: A No Nonsense Review

I never thought I’d be the kind of person who keeps a journal. It always seemed like something people did in movies—writing dramatic entries in a leather notebook, reflecting on life like some kind of poet. But at some point, I picked up a notebook and started writing things down. Not in a structured way, not every day, just whenever I felt like it.
At first, it felt pointless. Who was I even writing for? But over time, I started noticing patterns in my thoughts, things I kept coming back to. I’d flip through old pages and realize how much had changed—things I swore were a big deal months ago barely even mattered now. It became a way to get thoughts out of my head without overthinking them (which, let’s be real, happens way too often).
I don’t journal every day, and I don’t follow any special format. Some days, it’s a full page, others one sentence. But whenever I do it, I feel a little clearer, like I’ve made space for whatever comes next.
So, is journaling worth it? For me, yeah. It’s not a magic fix, but it helps. And sometimes, that’s enough.
